Accounting Manager / Chief Accountant

Opis stanowiska

JOB DESCRIPTION:

For our client, polish branch of international industry services company, we are looking for experienced, professional candidate who will manage financial and accounting aspects of employer, provide financial and operational information, support job cost and financial accounting.


Duties:

  • prepare and review bank reconciliations, manage the cash accounts and prepare cash projections, oversee employee cash advances,

  • reconcile monthly intercompany Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables and research discrepancies, if applicable,

  • manage fixed assets and depreciation, accounting and reconciliation of inventory, including supervision of staff conducting quarterly and year-end inventory counts,

  • prepare and file annual, quarterly, and monthly VAT filings and any other required tax or government filing/reporting, oversee and research company-wide payroll tax, VAT tax and Income tax compliance, and provide recommendations and guidance on needed actions for both branches,

  • manage all aspects of VAT accounting and compliance, including preparation and review of VAT settlements and declarations,

  • collect and provide information for annual insurance renewals and annual insurance audits,

  • calculate labor cost rates and intercompany charge rates, set up and facilitate monthly job cost projection meetings including meeting notes and follow up with project teams, review job cost reports and prepare monthly financial statements resulting from job cost projections, prepare and analyze monthly financial statements package, manage deadlines for Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable,

  • research local license requirements, make recommendations, prepare filings and registrations for various countries, if applicable.

  • review open payables, including expense reports, purchase order invoices, foreign vendor invoices, and company overhead invoices for payment; supervise Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable; evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes,

  • prepare and oversee annual budgets, collect and provide information for annual consolidated financial audit and tax prep.; manage annual audits,

  • manage and review preparation of payroll tax returns and year-end tax forms,

  • provide information for required governmental reporting and surveys and reports, as requested; support outside financial consultants in relation to audit of financial statements,

  • maintain working knowledge of the accounting process from purchasing, time entry, AR/AP, through financial results; perform other accounting and administrative duties, as needed on a day-to-day basis,

  • participate in a wide variety of special projects and handle any other activities as directed by the HQ and branch Directors.

Wymagania stanowiska

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • college degree in Accounting or Finance is required,

  • ten years of “hands on” accounting experience is strongly preferred,

  • must be trustworthy and able to maintain confidential information,

  • experience with Comarch Optima Program is a plus,

  • proficiency in the English and Polish language is required,

  • must maintain a professional appearance, be responsible and reliable, have a positive attitude and cooperate well,

  • excellent problem solving, have attention to detail, excellent organization and planning and effective time management,

  • strong ability to multi-task and flexibility to learn and accept other duties, ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills,

  • strong math skills and confidence when working with numbers, excellent computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs, advanced Microsoft Excel skills,

  • ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors and other business contacts,

  • must comply with company core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain relationships among and with employees.
